The arrival of Harrow Hong Kong Children School Shenzhen Qianhai (‘The School’ and website AISL Harrow_Harrow School for Hong KongChildren_DSE/IB Curriculum) is an immensely exciting moment for the Greater Bay Area. As the fourth Harrow-branded School within the region established by Asia International School Limited, the School will provide a world-class educational experience. Excellence is founded upon the unique fusion of a rigorous academic programme delivered through both the Hong Kong and International Baccalaureate curriculums embedded within the renowned Harrovian holistic journey forged over the past 450 years.
The School benefits from a truly 21st Century purpose-built campus in Qianhai, Shenzhen, where technology and a cutting-edge approach to teaching and learning will provide students from age 2 to 18 with every opportunity to excel, both within and beyond the classroom. Drawing on the significant resources in the Greater Bay Area, the school will become an educational hub focusing on STEAM, innovation, and the nurturing of bi-literate, trilingual, students (Cantonese, Mandarin, and English) who will go on to attend the world’s very best universities as International Old Harrovians. Harrow Hong Kong Children School Shenzhen Qianhai will open its doors in September 2023, catering to the children of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents, expatriates, overseas Chinese, and returning talents (working in Qianhai Cooperation Zone) aged 2 to 18.
School location: No.1 Kechuang 6th Street, Nanshan District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, China.
Job Requirement:
- Appropriate degree, with primary education teacher training (in English language education) recognised in Hong Kong or UK, or other equivalent teaching qualification giving QTS. (If teacher training qualification was obtained during the last 3 years, please submit lesson observation records signed by practicum Supervisor when submitting CV.)
- Working knowledge of the English Language Curriculum issued by the CDCHK or the KS3 and KS4 National Curriculum of England.
- Evidence of relevant and challenging continuing professional development.
- Effective implementation of learning and teaching strategies to achieve appropriately set teaching objectives that are in line with curriculum goals.
- Understanding of how children at the ages for primary schooling develop and learn.
- Ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children, in accordance with all relevant safeguarding polices and practice.
- Knowledge and experience of how to use of IT effectively in promoting pupil learning.
- Previous experience or knowledge of working with pupils for whom English is not their first language is a bonus.
- Effective communication and engagement with parents.
- Previous experience of teaching children is necessary, whether under teacher employment (preferred) or teacher training (for fresh graduates).
