Key Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver an adapted English Primary National Curriculum 
  • Create engaging and stimulating lessons that foster a love of learning in all our pupils 
  • Collaborate with a range of colleagues to support pupil success 
  • Contribute to the continued development of our primary provision 


About BSQ: 

  • The only Bi National British School in Ecuador accredited by CIS, NEAS, IBO Cambridge 
  • A COBIS teaching school 
  • Working toward BSO accreditation 
  • Offers an adapted English national curriculum blended with elements of Ecuadorian curriculum, with strong links to the local culture 
  • Located in the beautiful Cumbaya Valley, close to the airport

  • Small classes, TA support, on site doctor, and an on site educational psychologist

Requirements: 

  • Relevant Bachelors degree from a reputable university 
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a PGCE, BEd, or similar qualification (from the UK preferred) 
  • English as a first language or at C2 level. 
  • This post is open to Early Career Teachers.

Working in Quito, Ecuador gives colleagues an amazing opportunity to immerse themselves into the culture, with the natural wonders of the Amazon and Galápagos on their doorstep.

The British School Quito is an international quality, English language, British curriculum school with Ecuadorian Social Studies and Spanish as core subjects. The school has over 330 students from ages 3-18.

There is a full time bilingual assistant assigned to each Early Years and Primary class. Learning Assistance and ESL programs are available. Students in the primary school follow the UK National Curriculum core enriched with Ecuadorian and global content. Students in the secondary school follow the KS3 National Curriculum, IGCSE programs of study in years 10-11 and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in years 12-13.

We are an IB World School, accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. We are licensed and accredited by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education.
