Altus Education Partnership is looking to recruit a dedicated School Receptionist. This role is essential for supporting the efficient running of our school office and providing a warm, professional welcome to visitors.
About the Role
As a School Receptionist, you will be an ambassador for the school, managing reception duties and general administrative support. You will work closely with the Systems and Operations Manager to contribute to the overall vision and ethos of the school, ensuring the best standards for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing a warm welcome to all visitors and managing telephone and face-to-face enquiries.
- Ensuring timely and accurate message handling and monitoring reception emails and voicemails.
- Maintaining school security and safeguarding by controlling access and managing visitor procedures.
- Providing basic first aid support and welfare duties for students.
- Booking meeting rooms, handling deliveries, sorting mail, and maintaining contact details.
- Performing general administrative tasks such as typing, minute-taking, emailing, photocopying, and filing.
- Overseeing lost property, managing the reception area and ensuring it is welcoming and hazard-free.
- Assisting with student welfare duties and supervising students during lunchtime as needed.
- Supporting other staff members and assisting with purchasing and inventory management.
- Ensuring confidentiality and complying with data protection procedures.
Additional Duties
- Upholding the vision, values, and aims of the Academy and promoting a positive ethos.
- Attending and participating in relevant meetings and events, such as Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings.
- Identifying personal development needs and engaging in training and performance development activities.
- Undertaking other reasonable duties as required by the Line Manager or Headteacher.
Who We're Looking For
We seek someone who is organised, professional, and welcoming. The ideal candidate will have experience in reception and administrative roles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a flexible approach to work are essential.
