The School Counsellor supports and empowers the social, emotional, personal and academic growth of all students. The School Counsellor is an advocate for students and operates in a proactive manner, working in partnership with teachers, parents, colleagues and the local and international community, she/he supports students with the resources to access the school curriculum and to achieve academic success and personal wellbeing.
Key Relationships:
Senior Leadership Team, School Staff, Parents and Students, External Agencies and Service Providers.

Dubai British School Jumeira is part of the Taaleem family of schools and will offer an exceptional learning experience for more than 1600 students aged between 3 and 18 years of age. Our Curriculum
DBSJ follows the National Curriculum for England, from EYFS through to GCSE, BTEC and A Level examination courses. The curriculum is significantly enhanced by the local context and culture. The opportunities that students enjoy outside the classroom are just as important as the main curriculum and we offer an extensive, competitive, and varied extra-curricular activities programme.
Skills
Person Specification:
- Highly qualified in relevant domain of education to the role being applied for - Degree in education/psychology/counseling.
- A commitment to the wellbeing of all students
- The ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced international, multicultural, and demanding environment
Experience:
- At least two year’s school-based experience or previous experience working with schools and students in a counseling capacity.
- A committed and creative individual with excellent organisational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to work effectively with students and staff
