Outwood Grange Academies Trust seeks applications from outstanding applicants with integrity, imagination and energy for this rewarding role as a Regional Teacher of Science.

This is a perfect role for:

  • ECTs and Qualified Teachers who are looking to broaden their experience of working with students from different catchment areas.
  • Subject Leaders who are looking to develop their experiences through working with various academic and leadership teams prior to moving on to school leadership.
  • Subject Leaders/Teachers who are looking to take a step back from leadership duties to align with responsibilities outside of employment.

About the role

As a regional teacher, you will be based for extended periods of time (one term – one Academic Year) at one of our eight Teesside schools throughout the academic year, with the possibility of moving across schools in following terms/years or working across multiple sites on an ongoing basis throughout the academic year.

Working with the departments of the schools you are based in, you will focus on supporting the department through providing a high-quality teaching experience to students and ensuring high standards through effective teaching and learning, including preparation, evaluation and action planning. You will become an integral part of the department you join, allowing you to experience working with various department teams as well as work in a cross-curricular way to support the subject across the academy.

Location: Based on suitability, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work at one of our academies across the Teesside area.

This role would be open to a Job Share opportunity.

What we are looking for

As this role may require an individual to work across multiple academic teams throughout the academic year, we are looking for an individual who has the ability to hit the ground running, both in terms of relationship building with staff and students as well as their ability to provide an effective teaching and learning experience.

About us

Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT) is an education charity and not-for-profit sponsor of over 40 schools.

Within the Teesside area, we have seven secondary schools and one alternative provision, all of which work collaboratively with a shared aim of providing an Outstanding quality of education to students across the Teesside region, from Redcar over to Stockton; this is an opportunity for you to be a part of this journey.

Alongside our in-school support, you will also have the opportunity to work with various Directors and Department Heads and access to leadership roles in the DEEPS Structure, as well as access to a wealth of other CPD opportunities, such as NPQs through the Outwood Institute of Education.

Additional incentives 

Applicants who are successful and work at Outwood (depending on location) will be entitled to claim back their student loans yearly for an extensive time period (depending on when you qualified). (Application required - more information can be found here).

AND, you will be entitled to either:

  • A levelling-up payment: £1,500 – £3,000 per annum until 31 August 2025 for Chemistry and Physics teachers (application required – more information can be found here)

OR

  • An Early Career payment: £2,000 – £3,000 per annum until 31 August 2025 (application required – more information can be found here).
