Institut Florimont in Petit Lancy, Geneva, Switzerland, is a private, nonprofit, catholic day school. We offer education from kindergarten through to entry to university. The school, which is open to all religions, has around 1,470 students from many nationalities and regions.
Institut Florimont was founded in 1905 by the Missionaries of St. Francois de Sales. It is a catholic school that has been governed by lay people since 1995, working closely with the religious order that still owns the school and ensures that the major guidelines are followed.
Since 2006, a major renovation project has been underway on campus to ensure that our school community benefits from the most up to date resources and a 21 st century learning environment. Florimont aims to ensure that every child achieves his or her full potential, in the words of Saint Francois de Sales: “We must not settle for good when we could achieve better”.
Two language tracks (francophone and bilingual French/English) lead to a choice of three diplomas: International Baccalaureate (IBDP), Swiss Maturite and French Baccalaureat.
The school’s bilingual section, established in September 2013, provides an opportunity for pupils in the first three years of secondary school with a high level of language proficiency to be taught part of the school curriculum in English.
A range of sports are on offer as part of the school curriculum with extra-curriculum activities such as Robotics, Game of chess, Dancing, Fencing, Painting.
