If yes is the answer to all of the above then…our learners need you!
Corbets Tey School is an oversubscribed school with very special students and supportive governors. The school has a calm, purposeful yet stimulating and welcoming high quality learning environment with pleasant surroundings and specialist resources and facilities. On our main school site we cater for students aged from four to sixteen and on our Post 16 site (Corbets Tey @The Avelon), we have students aged sixteen to nineteen. Our students have a range of complex learning disabilities, Autism, speech, language and communication needs. The school specialises in developing language and communication in children and young people with severe language barriers.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated classroom practitioner to engage and inspire a class of learners with SEN through high expectations and eclectic and accessible teaching methods. The successful applicants will work in classes with students developing functional life skills and supporting students’ communication and behavioural needs.
The post holder will initially be based at the Avelon site and will be required to carry out the professional duties of a teacher as set out in the current edition of the School Teacher’s Pay and Conditions Document. We welcome applicants with experience of developing communication skills in learners with complex needs including Autism. You should be willing to apply an analytical approach to monitoring progress of students through personalised and innovative teaching and learning. You will be excited and enthusiastic about developing individualised teaching and learning to maximise motivation and engagement to achieve positive outcomes for every learner.
We are seeking team players, with outstanding staff leadership skills within the classroom. You will aspire to outstanding practice and also show a commitment to making a positive contribution to school improvement.
