Bury C of E High School has recently joined the Bishop Fraser Trust, a C of E multi academy trust established in 2017. This is an exciting time to join us as it provides a great opportunity to work closely with the other schools in the MAT; sharing good practice and building on our ongoing progress. We work closely with teaching hubs that train the outstanding teachers of the future. If you have a desire to progress into teaching, we would love to support you on this journey.

Main Duties:

• To Determine the strategic development of the special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school;
• Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability
• Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
• To line manage the SEND team including our team of TAs;
• The SENCO will also be expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.

• Demonstrates personal resilience and role models those personal qualities we wish to instil in our young people
• Is prepared to share good practice and actively seek to continue to explore ways to improve their own and others’ teaching and pastoral care
