MPS-UPS plus TLR 2c (currently £7,847)
Uckfield College is a highly successful and popular 11-18 school in the heart of rural Sussex, yet within commuting distance of Brighton, Eastbourne and the South Coast. We have an excellent working environment characterised by happy, well-motivated students and innovative and enthusiastic teachers.
We are looking to appoint an ambitious and skilled SENDCO to co-lead our Learning Plus department alongside our existing, highly experienced SENDCO, Cathryn Nyren. Due to continuous growth, we have taken the decision to expand the leadership capacity in the department, to create an effective, manageable role. This will add capacity, and provide the post-holder with an exceptional professional development opportunity.
The successful candidate will be someone with the drive and passion to further develop our SEND strategy and will ensure high quality provision for students with additional special educational needs, through clear and positive leadership, excellent organisation and highly effective communication.
We are seeking applications from candidates who:
- Demonstrate significant experience of working in a leadership role, preferably in SEND.
- Exhibit a strong understanding of current SEND legislation, policy and practice, including a range of SEND needs and interventions and strategies for supporting children and young people with SEND
- Can lead a team collaboratively, demonstrating strong leadership and management skills.
- Are passionate about inclusivity
- Are able to build strong relationships with staff, children and parents/carers
- Have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate high aspirations for students and themselves.
For further information and a full application pack, please telephone our Human Resources Team on extension 1008 quoting reference SENDCO/10/24 or visit our website: www.uckfield.college. An electronic application can be returned by e-mail to hr@uckfield.college.
Applications should be returned to the College as soon as possible or at the latest by 9am on Monday 14th October 2024. Interviews will be held on Tuesday 22nd October 2024.
We reserve the right to invite candidates for interview prior to the closing date and to close vacancies early if we have sufficient suitable applications. Therefore, we encourage interested applicants to apply as soon as possible.
