Job overview

About us

Doha College is a not-for-profit, high-profile, leading British International School in Qatar delivering a well-balanced, all-embracing English National Curriculum to pupils aged 3–18.

There are 2,700 students and 400 staff on a new and impressive 90,000m2 campus and this is an exciting time.  A new and experienced Principal is at the helm and excited for what looks to be an incredibly promising future.  Recently the school was rated Outstanding in all areas during the latest BSO inspection and was incredibly proud to be recognised as the only school in the whole of Qatar as one of the ‘World’s Leading 100 Private Schools’ in the Spear’s School Index 2024.

The opportunity

This is a full-time, sleeves rolled-up, exciting opportunity for a can-do, gregarious, and highly organised individual to make this role their own.

It is a high profile role working directly with the Principal and Chief Operating Officer (COO), providing all levels of administrative support. There will often be a requirement to liaise with students, parents, external individuals or organisations so attitude and presentation is imperative.

Readers will reflect on this content, if I have done my job well, and either be hugely attracted or firmly of the belief it is not for them. Should this not be for you, then I wish you the very best for your future; if this sounds like a great fit for you, please submit a personalised and comprehensive application as per our requirements and I guarantee I will review it in full myself.

About you

Above all else there is a need for you to be organised and have the ability to prioritise and plan your work time effectively. You must be highly computer literate and always looking to embrace new technologies to work more effectively and efficiently.

With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you must be able to interface directly with an incredibly varied range of stakeholders working flexibly and responsively. It is a requirement of the role that you have an excellent command of written and spoken English.

This is a busy role and you will need to be resilient and positive; be able to work under pressure and have a proven record of dealing with confidential information.

In summary, you will be comfortable working under your own initiative in a proactive manner to meet intent, providing suggestions, helping others to overcome challenges, and taking real pride in the tangible benefits you will help deliver for our special community.

The Offer

This is a non-sponsored hire so there are no remuneration benefits in addition to salary other than a very modest transportation allowance. What the offer provides is fair remuneration with the potential for significant increase through time, an especially warm and supportive community, great professional freedom, and an unparalleled work-life balance.

Salary:  QR12,360/month on appointment rising to QR18,540/month (through 10-time increments) in addition to a 150 QR/month transportation allowance.

Annual leave: 48 working days in total (30 days of annual leave plus 18 days for Qatari and British Public Holidays) rising to 53 working days after 5 years of continuous service.

School holiday working: There are 180 days of curricular-delivered content for pupils on dates approved by the Ministry of Education. Out of term-time, working is at a much more relaxed pace and the hours are reduced to 8am to 1pm. When Ramadan falls during term then hours are 8:30am to 1:30 pm (tbc by the Ministry of Education) each day.

Please note: This is a non-sponsored position and only candidates with family sponsorship currently residing in Qatar will be considered.

The above is provided so that you can consider if this position would be right for you were you to be selected. It is a really open and transparent way that we can manage expectations, so we are fair to all and done with comfort as we feel the offering is both fair and strong when considered holistically. As such, this is not an opening position or one that would be subject to negotiation.

Please note: Due to government requirements, we can only consider applicants who are above 18 and below 50 years old for this position.
