Bramley Oak Academy, a thriving special school providing education for 5-11-year-old boys who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, has been on an exceptional journey of transformation since joining London South East Academies Trust in 2020 and have significantly improved every area of their provision.

This success has been recognised by both the DfE and Local Authority and in October 2023, they were delighted to receive a Good judgement from Ofsted.

The school has benefited from a complete renovation and are now in the final stages. This has not only had a positive impact on pupil’s learning and outcomes but also enabled Bramley Oak Academy to increase their capacity and expand pupil numbers, welcoming girls for the first time. This is such an exciting time of development for the school, their pupils and wider community.

Bramley Oak Academy require a dynamic, passionate and talented Senior Leader to join a strong committed team focussed on driving the school even further forward.  They are looking to appoint an experienced Deputy Headteacher or outstanding candidate, who is earlier in their career, as an Assistant Headteacher from either a specialist or mainstream education background.

The new Deputy Headteacher or Assistant Headteacher will be ambitious, have high aspirations for children and young people as well as a passion to make a difference. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a talented staff team dedicated to the young people in their care and committed to transforming the lives of pupils and their families through the power of learning.  The school and Trust offer a culture of collaboration and continuous learning as well as providing the time to work together, share ideas and best practice and managing workloads.

The position offers a competitive salary and exceptional benefits. As part of London South East Academies Trust, a successful Multi-Academy Trust with schools across London, Kent, East Sussex and Surrey, Bramley Oak Academy also provide excellent CPD including SEND, behaviour, attendance, teaching and learning and NPQ programmes.

Bramley Oak is a thriving primary school located near Guildford in Surrey, offering specialist education to 5-11-year-old boys who have an Education Health Care Plan.

We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to fulfil their potential and have a successful future. We also know that great teaching helps all children become confident and respectful young people.

Education undoubtedly changes lives for the better in every community. Our school strives to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and resilience, supporting every pupil to progress successfully onto the next stage of their lives.

Our dedicated and committed staff have high expectations and aspirations for every single child.

Our vision is to prepare every pupil for WORLD (working together, optimism, responsibility, learning and decision making) so that they develop the knowledge, skills and maturity to make thoughtful decisions and become purposeful young adults with bright futures.

To achieve this, our specialist teachers and support staff deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that addresses the academic, emotional, physical and social development of all pupils. The curriculum includes a core offer in literacy and numeracy alongside social, moral, spiritual and cultural awareness, together with pastoral and therapeutic support.

All our classes are small and arranged to best meet the individual needs of each child, which we base on their age, academic level and social and emotional needs.

We are now entering an exciting phase of development as we grow our numbers. To do this, we have secured substantial funding to enhance the existing facilities and are now looking to expand our team of talented colleagues.
