Sixth Form Student Supervisor

LBR 5 Point 12-15 £26,300-£27,532

40 weeks per year. 8.45am-4.45pm Monday - Friday term time plus 1 additional work during the summer holidays to process exam results and prepare for the sixth form induction.

Oaks Park High School is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sixth Form Student Supervisor, with the additional responsibility to support our students with their destinations post 16. This role offers a unique chance to make a real difference in the lives of our students, supporting them on their journey to successful university and apprenticeship applications and beyond.

As the Sixth Form Student Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in providing outstanding pastoral care and academic guidance to our sixth form students. You will be responsible for fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that nurtures personal growth, academic achievement, and prepares students for their future careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of independent learning, ensuring an exceptional educational experience for all students.
  • Provide high-quality pastoral support, mentoring, and guidance to sixth form students, promoting their personal development and well-being.
  • To assist and support the behaviour, well-being and progress of students within the Sixth Form, as well as providing administration support for Sixth Form activities and responsibilities.
  • Liaise with parents and carers, providing regular updates on students' academic progress, attendance, and well-being.
  • To organise meetings and attend meetings as required to keep accurate minutes of the discussion points and place them on record.
  • To keep accurate records and regularly update the appropriate Pastoral Leader on any issues relating to students in their year group.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor academic progress, identifying and addressing any areas of concern.
  • Supporting the Pastoral Leaders and Curriculum Team Leaders with intervention plans.
  • Support students with higher education applications, including personal statements, university choices, and interview preparation.
