Job overview

This teaching post is based primarily at the Westdean site of the PRU in central Wandsworth and is for Pathways (Complex Needs Department).

The post is initially for one year as it is a fund related post.

Line Managed by Pathways Co-ordinator.

An exciting and impactful opportunity has arisen to shape the development of our new curriculum of our 1:1 provision for seven pupils with complex special needs such as SEMH & Autism. We are looking to appoint an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 Specialist Teacher for our Pathways Programme.

The Pathways Programme provides a much-bespoke education for a wide variety of secondary aged pupils all of whom have an EHCP for complex needs, usually a combination of SEMH, ADHD and ASD.

Whilst the focus of the curriculum offered is English, Maths, and PSHCE, other curriculum areas are included for pupils as appropriate and flexibility is key. A great advantage is the ability and experience of teaching a Key Stage 2 Curriculum.

Francis Barber is a great place to work with a friendly staff team and fantastic transport links and shops and banks nearby. The school is very mindful of supporting staff wellbeing and there are many opportunities for CPD, mentoring and coaching. Other benefits include; access to Cyclescheme, a contribution towards the cost of eyecare, season ticket loans and access to our Employee Assistance Programme.

For informal discussions please call Marie Smith Pathways Co-ordinator on 020 8874 8251.
