Job overview

Concord College is England’s premier co-educational international boarding school set in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, with approximately 600 students aged 13-18. With over 40 nationalities represented amongst our students, we enjoy a wonderfully diverse environment with a strong community feel and decency, trust and respect at our core. All employees play an important part in providing all that is required for the students in our care. If you are looking for an opportunity to work as part of a great team in a beautiful setting with first class facilities, excellent working conditions and rates of pay, plus many additional benefits, we currently have a vacancy for a casual Sports Assistant/Coach.

Ideally we are looking for someone with coaching qualifications and/or relevant experience in one or more of the following: hockey, volleyball, netball, badminton, basketball, swimming, tennis, cricket, football, personal training or gym supervision. You will be accompanying students to fixtures so the confidence and willingness to drive a minibus will therefore be essential.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working with young people.

The sports hall is open seven days per week until 10pm and flexibility will be required to cover the shifts on a casual basis. Currently there are approximately up to 20 hours per week available, mainly during afternoons, early evenings and weekends. Due to the casual nature of the role, however, there will be no set or standard hours of work nor will there be a guaranteed minimum number of hours of work.

A competitive hourly rate of pay is offered for this post, dependent on qualifications and experience.

Closing date for applications is noon Tuesday 27 August 2024

In the first instance, please send your CV or personal statement to: recruitment@concordcollege.org.uk. Please note, however, that shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a full and detailed application form.

For further information, please visit our website: www.concordcollegeuk.com, or contact our HR Department: Tel: 01694 731631.

Concord College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Child protection screening is undertaken which includes checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Our policy in relation to the recruitment of ex-offenders can be found on our website.
