We are looking for a classroom practitioner with a clear commitment to helping students reach their full potential, who is enthusiastic and passionate about teaching and determined to make a difference

 

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Subject Leader of Art, to work with the Head of the Design Faculty, in continuing to develop excellent teaching and learning at all stages in the Art curriculum.

 

You will be an outstanding practitioner, with previous experience of responsibility and leadership within an Art & Design team. Within your role, you will teach across the full range of KS3 and KS4 Art with the capacity to deliver the curriculum to the highest standard, and will have the ability to inspire, motivate and encourage students to foster a love of Art in its various forms. The successful candidate will be someone who is able to support and motivate others so that staff and students alike are able to realise their potential. 

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed teacher to join a vibrant and growing faculty, which offers a varied and exciting curriculum across KS3 & KS4. The department offers a curriculum where pupils explore and develop a range of 2D & 3D skills including textiles and ceramics. We are fortunate to have a well-resourced faculty across a range of specialisms in Art, DT, Textiles & Food.

Lawnswood School is a mixed, non-denominational community secondary school and sixth form for pupils aed 11-18. It is located in West Park, Leeds, West Yorkshire.

The school, founded in its current form in 1972, has capacity for up to about 1,500 pupils. Its predecessor schools were the Leeds Modern School, a boys' grammar school, and Lawnswood High School for Girls.
