THE ROLE

Our Economics & Business Studies Department is creative and forward thinking making the best use of traditional and modern methods of delivering an engaging curriculum. The successful candidate would be able to deliver both GCSE and A level Economics within an environment which has the highest academic expectations.

We’ll look to you to promote high expectations for our students, designing learning activities that are aligned to our school’s curriculum and creating a learning culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved. You will foster an environment of respect and progress within the classroom, facilitating learning through activities that reflect a growth mindset.

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will be joining a team of enthusiastic teachers. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher of business/economics to join our well-established school. You will be able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment, you will possess a university degree, a recognised teaching qualification and considerable teaching experience. All our staff are expected to promote the Core Values of the British School of Guangzhou, and be able to ensure that teaching and learning meets the needs and expectations of the individual children, and the wider school community. You will be expected to demonstrate thorough curriculum knowledge and a proactive approach towards the wellbeing of young children, yourself and others, including your own professional development.

OUR GLOBAL ACADEMIC RESULTS

The 2023-2024 academic year was the strongest ever in terms of BSG’s academic results. In A-levels, our students achieved 69% of grades at A*-A, along with 82% at A*-B. In IGCSE, BSG students achieved an outstanding set of results, with 60% of grades at 9 – 7 for the year and 92% at 9 – 4.
