Required for January 2025, the Governors of this high achieving, oversubscribed Catholic Voluntary Academy seek to appoint an enthusiastic, creative, highly motivated and well qualified Teacher of Food Preparation & Nutrition at GCSE and WJEC Level 3 Certificate in Food Science & Nutrition at KS5.  ECT’s are welcome to apply. 

Food Preparation and Nutrition is a popular and successful subject at St Mary’s. It is part of the Creative Design Faculty (also incorporating Drama, Art, Music and DT) which has a high profile within the school. The facilities are excellent with one well equipped food room and a part time technician. The staff are forward thinking and the faculty has a reputation for strong student work. This is an opportunity to take the subject in a new and exciting direction.  

 

You will join a forward-thinking and high-achieving department and be committed to delivering genuinely imaginative, engaging and varied lessons. This appointment provides the opportunity to teach well-motivated, hard-working and high achieving pupils.   

 

What are we looking for? 

 

We are looking for an outstanding and proactive Food Preparation & Nutrition Teacher, committed to high standards and expected to teach Food Preparation & Nutrition at key stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach Food Science & Nutrition at key stage 5.  As a committed team player, you will have excellent organisational skills and the natural ability to motivate pupils with a passion for making a difference to the lives of young people.
