Are you passionate about Geography and committed to inspiring students? Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School is seeking a Teacher of Geography to join our community of dedicated educators from 1st January 2025. We welcome both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers for this permanent role, offering the opportunity to teach a diverse range of abilities, including A Level, within a school renowned for its strong academic outcomes and deeply rooted Catholic values.

Key Responsibilities

As a Teacher of Geography, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons across KS3, KS4, and A Level Geography, fostering a love for the subject and high standards of attainment
  • Contribute to curriculum development, shaping schemes of work and resources to ensure relevance and depth in line with national standards
  • Participate in departmental activities, including field trips and enrichment programmes, to support a well-rounded learning experience
  • Track and support pupil progress, providing feedback, and reporting to parents to ensure each student achieves their potential
  • Act as a Form Tutor, offering pastoral support, promoting positive behaviour, and instilling self-discipline


What We’re Looking For

Our ideal candidate:

  • Holds a good honours degree in Geography or a related discipline, along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Is committed to personal development
  • Brings excellent knowledge of the subject, national curriculum requirements and exam specifications
  • Possesses strong organisational skills, a proactive approach to lesson planning and effective classroom management skills

About the School

The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School is a highly successful and oversubscribed Roman Catholic comprehensive school for boys, with a pan-London intake and mixed Sixth Form. It was graded outstanding in its most recent Ofsted report and was recently named The Sunday Times Comprehensive School of the Year 2018 and London State Secondary School of the Year. 

Location

Conveniently located halfway between Shepherd’s Bush and Holland Park tube stations, the Vaughan is situated within the leafy surroundings of London’s prestigious Holland Park and is within easy walking distance of Holland Park gardens, Westfield shopping centre and nearby Notting Hill. Both stations are served by the Central Line, with Shepherd’s Bush Overground also running trains to Clapham Junction every ten minutes.
