The Hastings Academy are seeking a History Teacher to join our enthusiastic team where you will be influential in contributing to raising standards in the classroom from KS3 to KS4. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a specialist in History.
  • Has a drive for excellence and a desire to be outstanding.
  • Is highly organised, motivated and driven to succeed.
  • Is committed to the progress of ALL students.
  • Is a team member who will collaborate with colleagues to ensure the progress of students.
  • Has enthusiasm, presence and authority who can deliver consistently. 
  • Experience of other humanities subjects such as Geography is desirable.

The Hastings Academy

At The Hastings Academy, our core aim is to nurture a sense of community while fostering qualities like aspiration, self-worth, and respect for learning. The Hastings Academy is a co-educational secondary school for students aged 11-16, located in Hastings, East Sussex. It first opened its doors in 1952 as a secondary school for girls called Hillcrest. In the early 2010s it changed its name and moved to a new purpose-built site.

The Hastings Academy is a smaller-than-average secondary school with around 900 pupils. It is part of the Hastings Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust that operates a number of schools across the region, at both primary and secondary level.

The Hastings Academy’s motto is “PRIDE through success”. PRIDE is an acronym that stands for the values that form the basis of the school’s ethos.
