Job overview
For September 2025 we are seeking applications from enthusiastic and skilled teachers for the full-time position of Teacher of IB Diploma Physics, and the Head of Science Department, for a suitably qualified candidate.
The successful candidate will be passionate about enriching and inspiring students in Physics and Science in general, utilising innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance learning experiences. They will regularly use formative assessment, student-focused activities, and practical experiments and demonstrations as part of their teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- IB Diploma Higher Level Physics teacher, capable of teaching Chemistry up to Grade 9/Year 10 equivalent, Biology up to Grade 8/Year 9 equivalent.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and teach a comprehensive pre-IB curriculum that prepares students for the IB Diploma.
- Engage in continuous professional development and share this learning for the development of the department.
- Participate in and contribute to whole school activities, enhancing the holistic educational experience for students.
- Organise and lead various extra-curricular events/activities that inspire students to learn more in Physics and Science in general.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Physics, Engineering or other Physics related field.
- Teaching qualification
- A minimum of 3 years' experience teaching Physics at senior high school/A level/ IB Diploma.
- To be considered for the HoD position, prior leadership experience is required.
- The ability to teach fluently in English. A working knowledge of French would be advantageous for collaboration with colleagues and for staff meetings.
- Experience in international schools and/or boarding school.

About Institut Le Rosey
Founded in 1880, Institut Le Rosey (www.rosey.ch) offers a rounded bilingual education in English and/or French for 440 students aged 8-18, leading to the IB Diploma and French baccalauréat. It also offers a unique two-campus system through its move from a 75-acre château setting by Lake Geneva to the school’s alpine campus every winter term.
