Job overview

About us: Aspire is an academy trust led by Debra Rutley NLE. We have three alternative provision schools in Buckinghamshire, two SEMH nurture schools, a hospital teaching service, a medical needs and home tuition service, as well as leading a number of outreach and wellbeing projects in schools across the county. Students attend full or part time and are referred to us by schools and the Local Authority. Our focus is to support young people, together with their families and schools, to reach beyond their potential and enable them to flourish by developing positive behaviours, attitudes and aspirations.

About the role: These are exciting times for education and Aspire is rising to the challenge and looking for a talented Mathematics specialist to help provide positive learning experiences for our pupils in KS3 and KS4.

We need someone who is willing to get involved in a wide range of creative activities, in order to engage all of our students. We need someone who is excited to learn more about the wide range of special educational needs, disabilities and other barriers that our students have, and who can work with us creatively to help them to overcome these.

About you: We work with both primary and secondary-trained teachers. We want to find teachers who believe that young people who have been excluded need a nurturing and loving approach, need to feel valued and cared for, and need to have teachers who believe in them.

We know this work is not always easy. You will need to be calm in the face of challenging behaviour, always see the best in a young person and find something to love in them, no matter what.

We have high expectations of our young people, in terms of their behaviour, social development, and academic achievement. We know that young people who have been excluded often have complex backgrounds, and/or a number of unmet special educational needs. When they receive the right support, they are capable of great things.

For further information and to arrange a visit to the school, please contact the HR Team via hr@aspireap.org.uk

To apply for this job please complete the application form and recruitment monitoring form and send them to hr@aspireap.org.uk

Aspire is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. The appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
