Teacher of PE

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher of PE to join our growing secondary phase at St Mark's Church of England, All-through School in Southampton. It is a great opportunity for an ambitious teacher to develop their pedagogy and practice and actively contribute to our evolving science curriculum.

St Mark's opened the secondary phase of its all-through school in 2022 when the school moved into brand new facilities. The school is highly oversubscribed and quickly established an excellent local reputation, including a rating of 'good' in all areas by Ofsted in 2022.

We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher of PE/PE specialist across the all-through school, who is open to support and coaching, relevant CPD and who buys into our culture of high expectations of behaviour and educational standards. As we are a growing school, there will be continuous evolution of middle and senior leadership roles across the school for those who are ambitious and fully support staff who wish to undertake NPQs.

PE is a strength of our school. We have a fantastic department who not only teach to a high standard, but supported by the leadership team, offer our students across the whole school as many opportunities as possible to represent the school in competitions, festivals and events.

We also have the newest sporting facilities across the whole of Southampton, which are the envy of many!

Although the opportunity to teach primary and secondary might be exciting for some and

daunting for others, please do not worry! As a school we plan for our strengths whilst giving support and encouragement to go out of your comfort zone! This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the required subject knowledge to develop and grow within our supportive community.
