Salary Range: CI$57,192- CI$74,772 per annum

The Teacher for the visually and hearing impaired-peripatetic will provide specialized services to children with visual impairment or deaf/blind. The postholder will access, develop, implement, instruct, advise, recommend and monitor programmes for visually impaired/legally blind and deaf/blind children (Birth to 19 years old), and adult when necessary. The postholder will work as a peripatetic specialist teacher in different settings (e.g. Homes, pre-schools and government schools in Grand Cayman). The post holder will maintain/manage caseload of 37-45 students and will do evaluations and create and implement individualized education programmes. The post holder will identify and deliver the service of treatment necessary to reach the goals.

*Required qualifications and experience include the following: 

  • Possess a Master’s Degree in Multiple Disability including visually and deaf/blind. 
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, with a minimum of 5 years teaching experience at primary and high school level.
  • Possess a teaching qualification with emphasis on teaching visually impaired and deaf/blind.

The remuneration package for the successful candidate is offered without deductions. The Cayman Islands Government provides an additional 12% pension contribution and 100% health insurance coverage for the employee and their dependents.
