About the role

This role is a fixed-term contract from February to May 2025. This is a part-time position, working Tuesday and Wednesday 8.30am-5.30pm and Thursday and Friday 8.30am-6pm.

As a Early Years Classroom Assistant, you will work with the Class Teacher and be responsible for the education and welfare of the children in the class. This will involve assisting in the daily organisation and running of the class, supporting individual children as directed and contributing to the Health and welfare of the children within and outside of the class.

Who we are looking for: 

• Experience of working with young children, perhaps as a parent or voluntary worker
• Knowledge and understanding of child development and the ways in which children learn
• Knowledge of phonics and early reading
• Confident in the supervision of children, and adhere to defined behaviour management policies
• Experience as a TA in a KS1 classroom and possessing a relevant qualification in Childcare and/or Education is desirable but not essential
