Job overview

About East Lane Primary School

East Lane Primary School was opened in April 2017 and in November 2019 was judged ‘Outstanding’ in every category by Ofsted in its first full inspection (Please click here for the full report). It is housed in a new and purpose-built £14 million building with exceptional resources and is located adjacent to Wembley High. This provides our children with an ‘all-through’ experience of outstanding schools. East Lane Primary School is a 3-form entry school with pupils from Reception to Year 6. Our results to date for Early Years, Phonics, KS1 and KS2 have been amongst the highest in Brent and significantly above the national averages, and we are looking to continue this success as the school moves forward.

What the School Offers its Staff

All teachers at East Lane receive a comprehensive, structured programme, delivered by highly-trained mentors and bespoke to the individual’s needs. As part of the WMAT, we also have the Teaching School Hub which spans Brent, Barnet and Enfield and is based at WHTC. Teachers can undertake NPQs with us and have the opportunity to develop their experience with an area they would wish to gain further expertise. If you are keen to develop as an outstanding leader or practitioner, then we would love to hear from you.

The Teaching Role

This position is ideal for a graduate in the chosen subject they would like to teach. We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

·        A degree of 2:1 or above in English, Maths, Science or History.

·        A thirst for learning and a strong desire to eventually gain QTS as a primary practitioner.

·        A committed and resilient attitude to learning, and the ability to use initiative where required.

·        A love of working with children.

·        A compassionate outlook to our children and the ability to offer kindness to all.

East Lane Primary School will offer the candidate the following:

·        A strong subject specific curriculum which provides our pupils with aspirational knowledge.

·        Professional support from an experienced mentor to ensure the chosen candidate understands the expectations of ELPS and the standards of teaching and learning.

·        An excellent school to begin your teacher trainee career, with outstanding teaching practice exhibited.

·        Happy and well-behaved pupils, who treat each other with kindness and respect.

·        A supportive and committed leadership group and staff body, who ensure all children are receiving the best possible education.

Our curricular structure is different to many other primary schools; the school is based around subjects with specialist teachers providing expert subject knowledge to ensure pupils’ progress is exceptional. Throughout our school, our staff mainly teach their specialist subjects and we believe this allows our pupils to greatly deepen their knowledge and understanding of key areas, fully preparing them for their transition to secondary school. As a subject specialist you will be teaching science across the key stages and will contribute to the planning and delivery of the curriculum across the school. Visits to the school are highly encouraged. Please send your CV if you are interested in this position.
