Waldorf Primary Class Teacher

The Island Private School of Limassol is a polysystemic educational hub that offers 3 programmes (International Baccalaureate, Waldorf & Montessori) under one roof. We follow a holistic approach, offering a full-day learning environment (08:00-18:00) for international students of diverse cultural backgrounds.

Starting from Pre-Primary, the educational journey at our school supports students on their learning path, tailoring education to individual needs, aspirations and connecting it to real-life experiences and up-to-date practices.  

The Waldorf programme is now offered from kindergarten through primary and secondary school up to Class 8.

We are now seeking a competent, experienced and, above all, passionate Primary Class Teacher to join our Waldorf Programme from August 2025.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Waldorf pedagogy, excellent classroom management skills, and a passion for cultivating a love of learning. As a Class Teacher, you will guide your class through their primary years, providing a nurturing and structured environment that fosters creativity, curiosity, and social-emotional development.

Responsibilities:

• To deliver the aims and objectives of the Waldorf Curriculum in line with the Learning and Teaching Objectives of the school within each class.
• To maintain administrative oversight and planning of the learning and teaching framework and implementation of the Waldorf class curriculum.
• To prepare written lesson plans which include the order of main lesson blocks, goals for the students' development of academic, artistic, physical, and social skills, and weekly class schedules. 
• To support students in maintaining the physical environment of their classrooms - creating a place that inspires learning by giving care to the beauty, artistic aspects, cleanliness and order of the room - and for the shared school building and grounds. 
• To undertake additional teaching responsibilities and child supervision (arrival, recess and dismissal) duties as required.
• To uphold the safety and wellbeing of students and to inspire positive relationships and teaching practice throughout the school.
• To nurture the student’s passion for learning, self-enquiry and high aspirations.
• To participate in weekly departmental meetings, colleague meetings, parent meetings, and school events in line with requirements of this role. 
• To work together with the faculty colleagues - sharing observations, questions and insights - to support each other's professional and personal development. 
• To maintain open and regular communication with parents, including class meetings, and individual conferences.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Primary education is a must. 
• Certification in Waldorf teaching is required. 
• Previous experience teaching or working with young children in a Waldorf setting is a must.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
• Positive attitude to challenging situations and tasks.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive school culture.
• The ability to work artistically and creatively within the educational framework.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 16:00.

Recruitment process:

1. Panel interview including Primary Principal, Waldorf Primary Coordinator, Waldorf College Chair and Employee Success Manager (30 minutes).
2. Trial lesson (45 minutes) or record of the lesson delivered by the candidate to be provided.  
3. Interview with the Head of School (20 minutes).
