<p>This is a Year 6 Assessment Task for the end of an electrical unit. Utilising the Design, Make and Appraise process, the task instructs students to design and create an electrical toy that your buddy class can use. The electrical toy must have an energy transformation and a switch.</p> <p>Achievement Standard/s:</p> <p>Science</p> <p>Students identify the role of circuit components in the transfer and transformation of electrical energy. (S1)<br /> They describe how individuals and communities use scientific knowledge. (S2)<br /> Design and Technologies</p> <p>Students create designed solutions. 'Living things' is an Integrated Inquiry unit plan using the Ralph Pirozzo model. It is directly linked to the Grade 4 Australian Curriculum Science- Living things have life cycles and Living things depend on each other and the environment to survive. This unit goes for around 5-6 weeks and is differentiated, requiring students to select activities based on their strengths and interests. It also has literacy and Numeracy links along with ICT.

This is a integrated unit of work on Ocean Animal Adaptations. It links with Australian Curriculum Grade 5 but can be used by anyone working on animal adaptations. It links Blooms Taxonomy with Gardenr's Multiple Intelligences making it highly engaging for all students. Students choose the activities that best suit their learning styles. With over 45 activities to choose there are plenty to stimulate all minds. Coloured squares represent the activities that all students must complete.<br /> <br /> This unit plan will tie closely to the Literacy and Numeracy program. It is integrated into all other learning areas allowing students with different learning needs to engage and have success.

This integrated unit of work is using a Ralph pirozzo model. This unit is designed with the aim of developing student’s awareness of the importance of writing for a purpose and with an explicit focus of different text types, which will tie in with Writer’s Notebook. The unit will be integrated into the curriculum showing links with Literacy, Numeracy, Arts, ICT, Health and Wellbeing, and Society and History.<br /> <br /> The final assessment task will involve students making a whole class newspaper to be given to all classrooms at your Primary School to demonstrate what has been learned and achieved over the unit. Parents and community members will also be able to access the newspaper to view students work via a link on the Primary Website and through viewing the newspaper in the classroom.
