This was made for Year 9 top set, to recap/ introduce all possessive adjectives. I got pupils to use what they had learnt to write creatively about another famous family when they had completed all the exercises.
A booklet a colleague and I put together for middle- lower ability Year 10 classes to help them to prepare for their written controlled assessment on holidays (Edexcel).
A booklet containing information about Barcelona and activities for pupils to do on a school trip. Pupils could also do some of the worksheets in the classroom, using books or the Internet as research tools to help them complete the activities. Contains activities on Gaudí (mainly Sagrada Familia), Picasso, FC Barcelona and Camp Nou, Catalan language and culture, and Portaventura.
I am a PGCE student with the Open University and this is the first resource I have uploaded. Any comments, good or bad, would be appreciated, and please let me know if you find any mistakes.
A worksheet I made for middle to lower ability Year 10 classes preparing to write a written controlled assessment piece on holidays. There is also a reading comprehension exercise. Thanks to other contributors who have produced similar resources from whom I took some ideas from
Similar to the one I made in French, pupils watch the trailers of six films (the titles are at the end of the document, all trailers can be found easily on Youtube) and match them up to the descriptions. There are also some grammar and translation activities.
A lesson I made for an interview. It contains lots of different activities with extension tasks and support sheets. PM me if you'd like the lesson plan.
I have recently become very frustrated with pupils not writing accents correctly (or not bothering to write them at all) so I have produced this helpsheet with activities for KS3 and KS4.
Two exercises I have made for a pupil to help prepare her for question 9 on AS exam (grammar gap-fill). She is very bright so the second exercise on television is quite challenging. Hope they're useful to someone else!
A powerpoint I made for an interview lesson, introducing the topic of holidays. Teaches pupils how to say where they went, who with, when and give an opinion. Comments are welcome and if you spot any mistakes, please let me know.
This is a lesson I made for a high-ability Year 7 class, to introduce them to some typical French dishes and introduce the idea of agreeing adjectives with nouns, and giving reasons for opinions to reach level 4. They enjoyed learning about French food. Comments are welcome and please let me know if you find any errors.
I showed pupils five trailers for French films and they had to match the trailers to the descriptions in French. Year 9 pupils really enjoyed it, and asked if we could watch 'Untoucable&'! I didn&';t give them any vocabulary and they didn't use a dictionary. Pupils then picked out phrases from the texts which they can then use when describing films. I found the trailers on Youtube (answers on second page). Be careful, with the &'Hors du prix&'; trailer, there is a swear word in the subtitles, I just paused and skipped it.
AS-level lesson I made for an interview. Also focuses on the present participle. Comments welcome and any suggestions for improvements (I am an NQT). Also please point out any mistakes.
This is for GCSE French - helping pupils to use sequencers (including structures such as 'après avoir' and 'au lieu de') when describing a past holiday. There are two worksheets, 'le défi' being the more difficult.
Reading texts with activities which I have used with Year 9 as they think about their options to show them how languages can be used in various careers. Pupils seemed to enjoy reading the texts. After completing the exercises, pupils translated one text into English.
A booklet I made for Year 9 after we had studied illnesses and injuries, Pupils use the texts to help them to write a letter to a teacher explaining why they can't come to school. You can undo the highlighting of words in bold and italic in the texts to make activities more challenging for more able students. There is also a powerpoint you can use to go through the answers and to prepare pupils to write persuasively.
Here is a revision aid I made to help Y11 to prepare for their mock exam. There is no topic-specific vocabulary, but the 'game changers' such as negatives, false friends, time markers etc (it's by no means exhaustive). Hope it&'s useful to someone else.
I made this for an observed lesson with a very able KS3 class. We had just covered places in town and how to say where you are going (e.g. Voy a la bolera). I wanted to show pupils how they could improve their level by talking about the past and the future. Comments/ suggestions for improvements welcome.
