<p>Hello. this is my brand new Christmas songs written for Primary Schools in 2024. It’s called ‘Drummer Boy’ and uses simple British Sign Language alongside it’s lyrical feel. There is an exciting build and crescendo towards an ending using three parts. I hope you enjoy it.</p>

<p>This is my new Christmas song for Primary Schools called ‘Just One Night’. I hope you enjoy singing it with your children.</p>

<p>In this video the children explore Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf.</p> <p>Firstly the students are introduced to the characters and their accompanying musical instruments. Then, they get the chance to test their knowledge by having a go at the attached worksheets.</p> <p>Finally, the children explore the music of Prokofiev further, by attaching their own character to each piece of music. Also there is an opportunity for the students to create their own short piece of motif music.</p>

<p>The children explore the Orchestra, in this fun, interactive music lesson.</p> <p>The students are introduced to the four families of the Orchestra. The Strings, The Woodwinds, The Brass and the Percussion.</p> <p>They hear instruments from each section.</p> <p>The students then take part in a cut and stick exercise, where they have to stick the correct instrument into it’s matching orchestral family.</p>

<p>This is an online, Video-Music lesson exploring Rhythm Grids, percussion and composition.</p> <p>Firstly, the children are shown the Rhythm Grid in action. I clap out beats filling 16 bars. It’s extremely accessible and enjoyable for the children.</p> <p>Then I explain how each line of music is created and the children can join in.</p> <p>Once they have learned how to clap the full Rhythm Grid, they can then create their own.</p> <p>This resource covers rhythm, percussion and composition.</p>

<p>This video introduces the children to Dynamics. We explore a quiet woodland area and then a noisy jungle. From a timid mouse to a ferocious dinosaur!</p> <p>The children will learn how to use simple music theory.</p> <p>On the worksheets attached the children have to match the sound to the dynamic.</p> <p>Finally, we listen to 3 classical pieces of music and try to fit the correct dynamic to each section.</p>

<p>This video delivers a full lesson on Tempo that can be used for a large range of age groups. There is something for children from KS1 all the way up to KS3.</p> <p>We explore Italian, musical phrases such as Adagio and Lento. Using both classical and modern pop music an examples.</p> <p>The children then try to work out Tempos of music, using BPM on an app or browser.</p>

<p>This video introduces the work of Hans Zimmer to Primary School children.</p> <p>Firstly, I play the students 10 short clips of his music. They have to guess the film/tv programme that has made the music famous.</p> <p>Then we explore orchestral and electronic sounds.</p> <p>Finally, the children become composers. They use one of Zimmer’s secret techniques to create their own musical motif.</p>

<p>In this video lesson, the children will explore the work of John Williams.</p> <p>This is a fantastic lesson for all pupils, as the children are taken to the world of Harry Potter, Star Wars, Jurassic Park and lots more.</p> <p>Williams music is inspirational and the children will have to listen to some of his most famous pieces and try and match the music to the films.</p> <p>They will then get to play some of the famous melodies on a free piano app.</p>

<p>Following on from learning Music Notes and Note lengths (see my earlies videos) the children now learn how to fill a bar consisting of four beats.</p> <p>They create their own four beats bars using semibreves, minims, crotchets, quavers or semi-quavers.</p>

<p>This video explores the importance of sharing worries.</p> <p>When things are easy for us, we feel no anxiety. However, when we can’t find the answers, we can hide away. We feel sad and lonely. This video suggests the answer lies in talking and listening. Sharing our problems can help to lift us and feel confidence once more.</p> <p>An ideal starting point for a discussion on ‘Worries’ and ‘Talking’.</p>

<p>This is a Broken Karaoke quiz for Young Voices 2022.</p>

<p>This is a simple Rhythm lesson for children in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.</p> <p>I teach them how to compose a simple Rhythm Grid and then the children get to clap along to Superhero conductors!</p> <p>The children will then use percussion instruments to embellish their learning.</p>

<p>In this video I introduce the children to Music Notation in a fun and interactive way.</p> <p>The children learn about the notes on the treble clef and have some exciting exercises to test their new found knowledge.</p>

<p>How well can you keep a beat in your head? Is your brain ready to focus for the day? Time to put it to the test!</p> <p>This is a fantastic game for your children in class and also for any home-schooling families.</p> <p>The focus is on internalising a rhythm. Listen to me count to a beat and then you have to carry on counting in your head when I stop. Finally I will shout ‘Stop’ and you have to guess what number I’m on.</p> <p>The video gives you 10 rounds!</p> <p>Enjoy!</p>

<p>This is an energetic, engaging rhythm game for the children.</p> <p>It teaches concentration, rhythm and internalising a beat. It does this in a competitive way and the children will want to come back for more and improve each time.</p>

<p>This is great fun for pair work or for a home-schooling family.</p> <p>Here, I teach the children Heart and Soul on the piano. Made famous in the 80’s film ‘Big’.</p> <p>If the children don’t have a piano/keyboard at home or school, it won’t get in the way. Simply use a touch screen tablet/device and play the melody that way.</p> <p>Try and play it as a pair. Very rewarding.</p>

<p>Great for Home-Schoolers and Key Worker children alike.</p> <p>This is a song made entirely by your rhythmic hands and a cup! It teaches the children that there are plenty of musical instruments at home that they might not have realised.</p> <p>It’s a tricky rhythm to pick up but once you have it it’s throughly rewarding.</p> <p>Enjoy!</p>

<p>Here I teach subtraction through a fun song.</p> <p>The children will listen to the song first, then have a go themselves. We will then sing a further subtraction together.</p> <p>Finally, the children will get to try their own subtractions with the song. There are ten more to try in the uploads.</p>
