This is a bundle of resources based on the topics of hobbies, sport and favourite things. It has been created with Logo 1 in mind, but can easily be used without this text book.<br /> <br /> It contains:<br /> <br /> 1. Sport = Whole lesson on sport, including introducing vocab and then focusing on expressing likes and dislikes ('ich mag'/'ich finde'. The lesson then goes on to explore word order; for example, 'ich mag Tennis nicht' or 'Tennis mag ich nicht'.<br /> <br /> 2. Hobbys = This PowerPoint and grammar sheet ('Present tense verb forms - hobbys) focuses on how the regular present tense is formed, beginning with the verb 'spielen'. It then goes on to look at verbs that do not follow a regular pattern, including fahren, lesen and tanzen.<br /> <br /> 3. Lieblingssachen = This PowerPoint and recap activity ('Lieblingssachen recap activity) looks at compound nouns in German, including working out their genders. It then goes on to look at mein/dein/sein/ihr to enable students to discuss other people's favourite things.<br /> <br /> 4. Recap resources = a quiz and wordsearch focusing on revision of the topics of Sport, Hobbys und Lieblingssachen.

This resource bundle includes two full lessons, one on food and drink, and another on shopping in a market. These resources were originally designed for a mid-to-lower ability group but can be easily adapted.<br /> <br /> 1. 'Ich esse gern' = this lesson starts with an introduction to German food specialities (worksheet included), followed by an introduction to vocabulary for food and expressing likes and dislikes using match ups and dictionaries (also included as a separate worksheet if useful). The lesson concludes with a game of battleships (worksheet and instructions included).<br /> <br /> 2. 'Auf dem Markt' = The lesson begins with an introduction to vocabulary for fruit and veg in German. There is also a cut and stick activity giving both singular and plural forms (worksheet included). There is a memory game (and additional word search) included to practise this vocabulary. Next, German words for different weights are introduced through a gap fill activity and translation activity. The lesson then goes on to a dialogue between a shop keeper and a customer through a spoken dominoes team activity (domino cards and instructions included). There is an additional homework task added at the end.

This bundle of resources covers the topics of Mein Haus and Mein Zimmer.<br /> <br /> 1. Mein Hause = this lesson requires some prior learning in the form of a learning homework (also included). The lesson then goes on to look at the use of the dative (im/in der) and word order of 'man kann + infinitive' with activities to consolidate this learning.<br /> <br /> 2. Mein Zimmer = this lesson introduces students to 9 key pieces of vocabulary. It then looks at the difference between the nominative and accusative cases with sentences such as 'das ist ein Stuhl' vs. 'ich habe einen Stuhl'. A gap fill worksheet explaining these cases is also included.

This lesson gives students a variety of sentences to use when talking about the environment as well as introducing students to the wide range of recycling options available in Germany.<br /> <br /> It begins with 'man kann' sentences and discusses their structure.<br /> <br /> The lesson then goes on to demonstrate to students how to change these 'man kann' sentences into sentences with 'ich' and questions with using 'du', then gives them the chance to put these into practice. For example, students are guided through the grammatical differences between 'man kann Wasser sparen' - 'ich spare Wasser' - 'sparst du Wasser?'<br /> <br /> A really useful lesson for groups who still find getting to grips with the present tense tricky or who prefer to understand the grammar behind sentences rather than rote learning.

A PowerPoint on the topic of 'describing personality'.<br /> <br /> This has links to Logo 1 ('Bist du kreativ?') but could easily be used without this textbook.<br /> I used this over a series of 30 minute lessons, but could easily be adapted to suit a longer lesson.<br /> <br /> The PowerPoint covers:<br /> -basic vocabulary (adjectives to describe personality)<br /> - intensifiers (sehr, ziemlich, nie)<br /> - describing your own personality and describing the personality of others (third person)<br /> - asking questions about others (du/er/sie)

This is a revision resource aimed to revise body parts, illnesses and visiting the doctor. It was created with Logo 2, chapter 3 in mind, but can easily be used with other text books, or none, as no references are made to the book.<br /> <br /> The sheet can be used as a standard revision sheet. However, it was originally designed as a competition. For each section that students complete, they should come to the teacher's desk, where the activity is marked. For each successfully completed section, the teacher awards the student with a raffle ticket. This goes into a prize draw at the end of lesson - the more tickets a student has, the higher chance they have of winning. A highly motivating and engaging task to brighten up what could be quite dry revision.

This lesson concentrates on 'man kann' + infinitive and what students can do locally to stay fit.<br /> <br /> The lesson introduces key vocabulary, discusses the grammar around 'man kann' and includes a memory game for vocab revision. It then goes on to a reading comprehension, speaking activity (including time phrases) and a poster activity.<br /> <br /> There is more than enough material here for a full hour lesson.

This set of resources is designed to help students to write their first extended piece in German using all the vocabulary they have learnt at the start of their German course (Alles über mich).<br /> <br /> The PowerPoint includes:<br /> - an introduction to letter writing in German;<br /> - a 'Spot the mistakes' slide including a letter with 15 common mistakes among the groups I teach, which could be used either before the letter is written as a recap, or afterwards as a feedback activity;<br /> - a slide on target setting for the next unit.<br /> <br /> Also included is a 'Success criteria' sheet which is broken down into layout, content and accuracy with scores for each. This enables students to easily identify where they can improve and can be used as a basis for correcting work. Teachers can show the success criteria to students in advance and also use the sheet for easy but effective marking. It is recommended that students are given time to respond to their feedback and make corrections.
