This Homework booklet is designed for 6 weeks of homework tasks for a year 10 class studying the new Eduqas Performing Arts award. The idea of the booklet is to get students used to writing about their lesson experiences and also encourage reflection/evaluation. The booklet can be adapted to suit other needs too.

Revision booklet for AQA GCSE Drama. This booklet uses Blood Brothers and Kinky boots to look at the various exam questions. You can adapt the Kinky boots information to suit your choice of live theatre. The multiple choice section is also included with diagrams of stage types and relevant information on theatre makers.

6 Lessons of Oliver Twist exploration. Normally I would watch the first half of the film on youtube then begin practically exploring it after this. This SOW works on characterisation and musical theatre - it allows students to sing ‘food glorious food’ or ‘consider yourself’. The final assessment can be a final musical theatre performance where students choreograph their own version of the songs explored during lessons. It’s a fun SOW that year 7’s really enjoy. Resources include costume design for Oliver as HW and a worksheet that can be used during the film part of the SOW.

This is a 3 lesson workshop which works through various make-up designs for the technical award. The workshop is very practical based which means there may be gaps of time that would be filled with the students designing. The 3 designs covered: Fantasy Age Street make up You will need supplies to complete the lesson or ask students to bring in their own equipment.

A 3 year course plan for using AQA Drama new spec. Blood Brothers set text. Ideas for SOW and lessons. A way of setting out what year 9 and 10 students do to prepare for the exam. This sheet would need adapting for what SOW’s you want to use yourself.

This is a powerpoint with an introduction to Unit 1 in the Technical award course. This includes workshops on Make-up and Stanisflavski as well as preparation for the presentation itself. This is based on the brief ‘reinterpretation’ but can be edited to suit your choice. This Powerpoint lasted around 4 weeks and can be added to towards the end with the more practical based lessons for rehearsing the pitch.

These have been sent home to parents for their children to complete tasks at home. All tasks are easily accessible with paper tasks and computer tasks. These tasks are based around topics such as ‘Oliver twist’ and ‘Red riding hood’. Resource includes 4 pages worth of tasks to keep students busy for around 2 weeks. In the second resource there are also year 9 and 10 tasks relating to GCSE.

These set of lessons are run to go through all of the content for the component 1 drama exam. Lessons follow: section A - Theatre makers Section B - Blood Brothers based Section C - Based on Kinky boots as a live theatre production (this can be adapted for your chosen performance) This presentation could be used for revision over a half term period.

I’ve created this as a workshop type lesson for year 6’s who are visiting the school. It’s nice and easy with common drama games.
