I had the pleasure of an Ofsted recently - this lesson was praised by the inspector!

Really straight forward lesson -

first 5 mins was recap on previous lesson on Stamford Bridge - lots of gated questions
They then watched the video - see ppt link - and I again asked questions following some feedback and thinking time.

They then completed the sorting exercise - lots of peer review and thinking time - about 10 to 15 mins

Once this was done they then responded to questions and then they completed the hierarchical triangle followed by the creation of a SPEEDL paragraph. This was supported by a writing frame to help the weaker learners - see the SPEEDL slide on the PPt.

To cap the lesson off we did a magpie minute - students walking round and taking nice ideas from other people's work and then develop their initial paragraphs with Purple Pen.

Overall a really pleasing lesson.
