A guided six lesson fieldwork project focused on small scale ecosystems. Teaching understanding and evaluation of the geographical enquiry process. There is a PowerPoint presentation which will guide students through the fieldwork booklet and help them to understand the enquiry process. This PowerPoint allows you to add your own name of the school and site within the school (focuses on 4 sites). This could also be used in another location with multiple different sites to carry out the investigation. This section of work is based on biodiversity and soil quality. Lesson one: Setting a hypothesis and enquiry question. Lesson two: Sampling methods and types of data. Lesson three: The investigation. This is designed as two lesson a preparation lesson and an outside lesson to collect data. Lesson four: Outside lesson for data collection. Lesson five: Data presentation methods. Students to create graphs of the data collected. Lesson six: Evaluation of the enquiry process. Students will look at each stage of the process and how successful it was.

As part of this pack you will find four 9-mark questions fully scaffolded with sentence starters and prompts. This will allow students to practice longer writing questions that have developed explanations. You will also find two model answers with activities to complete. This involved highlighting and identifying the use of different AO’s and then also a scaffolded marking task. These questions are based on GCSE AQA Geography with this pack focusing on Urban Challenges. These could be adapted and altered to fit other exam boards.

Two revision pages are enclosed. These are designed to be printed on A3 and focus on the first part of the changing economic world section taught in line with AQA. These can be adapted and will fit most exam boards that teach development. The first work sheet focuses on Classification of countries into HIC/NEE and LIC and the development measures that allow for this classification. The second part focuses on the causes of the development gap. There are a series of activities to follow in an order that lead to a 9-mark questions for students to answer. The second work sheet focuses on measures to reduce the development gap. There are questions asked on multiple methods, such as fair trade and TNC investment. Once revising the five methods students will complete a decision-making task. Students are presented with a scenario and must recommend different measures to help that country develop.
