<p>All resources created for the KS3 art unit covering masks.</p> <p><strong>Understanding – students will understand…</strong></p> <ul> <li>What is a mask and why do we use them?</li> <li>The difference between character masks and cultural masks</li> <li>The way facial features are represented through masks</li> </ul> <p>**Skills – students will be able to… **</p> <ul> <li>Learn to transfer different elements from a variety of drawings/resources in order to develop an original design</li> <li>Learn how to create detail in facial features using either layered card or clay (resource dependent)</li> <li>Learn different ways of presenting information visually</li> </ul> <p><strong>Assessment – tasks that students will do as evidence of learning</strong><br /> Half term 1: Divide a double page into four and draw 4 different examples of international masks<br /> Half term 2: Choose elements from your visual research to create an original design for a mask you will later make from cardboard.</p>
