Guided Reading - Phonics Activity Worksheet

(0)

This Phonics activity worksheet was designed for an independent or supported activity sheet during a 20-30 minute Guided Reading session. The main focus of this activity is to consolidate digraphs recently learnt in the phonics lessons. The first page shows an example of the sound ‘th’ and the second sheet can be edited to create other digraphs. This resource is a pilot to test whether their is a market for these activities and I have many more differentiated phonic worksheets and different versions of this resource to share. I would love to receive comments that would help me in my quest to create suitable and high quality resources. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you enjoy the resource and many more in the future. CT

Guided Reading - Phonics Activity digraphs and split digraphs

This resource was used as 1 out of 5 activities for year 1 guided reading sessions for 30 minutes. The activity can be differentiated to pitch it at Year R or Year 2. There are 7 activity sheets that can be photocopied back-to-back to save on the paper usage.

I usually use one activity sheet per week which then means you have 7 weeks worth of phonic activities completed already. I then split my guided reading like the following:

1. Teacher led - reading comprehension text and questions.
2. Reading with support - TA listens to children read their reading books.
3. Handwriting / pencil control - Sheets or activities to help with control.
4. Phonics Activity sheets - Children really enjoyed these sheets especially creating the name and drawing a picture of their alien.
5. Reading for pleasure - Children use the book corner to read silently.

I have a lot more resources that I would love to share and I would welcome any constructive feedback about the resources.

Thanks

Mr. T

The Phonics Phase 3 bundle is really helpful as it provides the visual learners with the experience of seeing the letters and to associate the sound with an image.
The handwriting sheets can be used for guided reading activity, handwriting focused activities, 1-1 short activities, interventions to improve handwriting, homework and however you may wish to use them. The sheets are designed to help children to recognise the feeling and motion of cursive handwriting and can improve the children’s handwriting dramatically as I have seen throughout the years.

I WILL BE ADDING THE NEXT HALF OF THE ALPHABET ALONG WITH CAPITAL LETTERS AND EXTENSION SHEETS IN THE FUTURE.

Please buy this resource and share with fellow practitioners as this will motivate me to produce more resources.

Thanks.

Phonics - Phase 2 Sounds Bundle

The phase 2 phonics bundle helps to visualise the learning in phonics and progress through into other lessons to help with their spellings. The bookmarks and sound mat help children to recognise the sounds and letters. I found the bookmarks to really help the children in their learning as I used a treasury tag to attach them to their books.

The Phase 2 phonics bundle includes:

1 x PowerPoint with flash cards for you to use on the Interactive whiteboard or printed as flash cards.

1 x PowerPoint with flash cards with sound buttons shown for you to use on the Interactive whiteboard or printed as flash cards.

1 x PowerPoint with flash cards with the letter, picture and word for use during phonics, flash cards or a beautiful display.

1 x bookmarks with all the phase 2 sounds for children to have in their books to remind them of the sounds.

1 x phase 2 sound mat that can be used in all lessons for children to use on their tables to help them spell using their sounds.

If you purchase the bundle please leave some feedback as I would love to hear from you.
