Pan's Labyrinth Mind Mapping Resource

(0)

List of condensed points to be mind mapped to study the film Pan’s Labyrinth / El Laberinto del Fauno. The points to study can be cross-referenced on mind maps. Mind maps have been formulated to show students how to expand on the specific topics to create succinct essay points

Example use: reference > Alice in Wonderland. Point it reinforced = use of escapism to avoid the ‘real world’ of civil war. Examples = Idea of following a creature 'down the rabbit hole; Ofelia carries books everywhere; green dress and white pinafore like Alice’s dress; presence of mythical characters; stopwatch; mirrors; eating forbidden food. Techinical portrayal: dark lighting like the Tim Burton film, low camera angles to make her seem small when appropriate, shots almost as described in AIW book. Characters involved: Ofelia like Alice; Faun almost acting as her march hare, encouraging her down certain paths and appearing when guidance is needed; presence of the toad like that in AIW etc etc.

Have students expand on all points in the list using the mind maps depending on category. They will fully explore the points and understand how they overlap as they appear on other mind maps.
