Mastry of numbers 2-20.

These can be used as a starter or plenary when considering the mastery of numbers 2-20. They get children to think of how many ways that number can be made. You could use them as a stand alone number revisit or within lessons that look at the four operations. They fit any age range as the numbers can be changed and the range of potential number sentences improves. These were originally created for my year 2 class however I have since used them in year 1 and year 3 with great effect. I use them sporadically throughout the year to ensure they remain confident in their understanding of number. I have also added a time limit which children really seem to enjoy. See how many they can get in the time given and a reward for the most but also the most complex number sentence.
