This bundle of summary sheets have been created to aid students with the regeneration module of the Edexcel A Level Regenerating Places Module.

The students who I have given them to have said they have been useful for a revision tool or has helped when a lesson was missed.

There are some that have been created or differ slightly due to the textbook that is used in my school. The textbook is the Edexcel GCE Geography AS Level Student Book by Viv Pointon, Laurence Lewis, Paul Wraight, Daniel Mace and Lindsay Frost. (The one with rice fields on the front)

Some of the content included is Berkshire as a successful place and the rust belt as an unsuccessful place. Also the Dark side of the Olympics, how national governments use investment into infrastructure (e.g. fracking, HS2, Heathrow and Science parks to name a few included). Also looking at how rebranding has been undertaken in both urban (Salford & Glasgow) and rural (Cornwall, Bronte & Kielder) environments.

Finally, it also included priorities for regeneration like sink estates and commuter villages, what effects lived experience and how lived experience can have an impact on a person and how this impacts on engagement and attachment but could lead to marginalisation and social exclusion, how conflict can occur in communities with a focus on the Olympics and how regeneration leads to the improvement of the living environment by looking at Barking and Dagenham as an example.

There are more included but hope this gives you an idea of what this bundle includes.

World Cup Geography Skills Lesson

To embrace the World Cup 2018, this document is to get the students to think about where the players in the England team play when they at home but also to improve Geographical skills that can be used later in their education.

There are a series of tasks to get the student to improve how they use an Atlas, then improving statistical skills (mean, median, mode and range), creating bar and scatter graphs and then going back to the Atlas to find out about the teams that were in the quarter-finals of the 2018 World Cup.

This is great for students in Year 7 to 9 and is a great opportunity for a display.

With Year 7-8 students work in pairs, Year 9 are able to this by themselves.

I would really appreciate feedback on this resource as it is the first one I have uploaded. Also I would like to know if people have adapted or included anything else!

Thank you
