For A-Level German, covering the final scene of the film “Good bye, Lenin”. The first resource is a transcript of Staatsratsvorsitzener Jaehn’s speech, and some analytical questions. The second is the GDR’s national anthem, “Auferstanden aus Ruinen”, which is played in the background of the speech, and some analytical tasks, finally comparing anthem and speech. For these tasks, a very high level of understanding of the GDR’s history is required.
