I am an RE teacher and my students love to debate. <br /> They have some excellent ideas but struggle to put them in to a coherent structure in order to strengthen their arguments. <br /> They struggle in particular with creating a meaningful counter claim.<br /> <br /> This is a writing frame aimed at similar subjects and discussions that will help pupils organise their ideas either in written or spoken format to create meaningful class debates and discussions.<br /> <br /> Any feedback would be much appreciated.

A lesson designed to recap on MLK and introduce Malcolm X.<br /> Includes a Malcolm X quote code breaker activity and a 'make it stick' activity designed by Kagan to maximize student's learning. <br /> As a plenary, different opinions relating to the make it stick activity and their opinions regarding racism, oppression and violence are put in different parts of the classroom. This is an anti-smoking lesson from the PSHE module of RISK which has been focused to develop class discussion. During the lesson, the students are encouraged to do any written work on whiteboards so they are mainly focused on developing their own opinions on the issue.
