<p>Are you teaching the Holocaust from home or in class?</p> <p>This pack introduces the class to The Holocaust explaining what it was and why it happened. It includes key vocabulary and fully adaptable sheets as well as a PowerPoint and thinking activities aimed at KS2. I used it for Year 5 and the class loved it, the questions kept flying in and the children were fully engaged and really enjoyed the thinking activities.</p> <p>There is a comprehension sheet that relates to the PowerPoint to make sure the children fully understand what has been taught.</p> <p>There is a brief introduction to Anne Frank and who she was which is useful to introduce the next lesson to be linked for English lessons where they will start reading The Diary of Anne Frank.</p>

<p>An article to encourage reading to those who want to read something that interests them.</p> <p>I have many students who don’t like reading but writing this article has encouraged some of my students to read and discuss.</p> <p>It also offers an insight into the Rugby Six Nations and educates those who are not fans to understand a little bit of history about the game.</p>

<p>A comprehension designed to intorduce students at KS2 and KS3 about what is happening currently in the world with all the racism protests and what is Black Lives Matter.</p> <p>There is also a PowerPoint encouraging class discussions about racism, explaining what Black Lives Matter is and it is aimed at getting students to discuss their thoughts and share their ideas.</p> <p>Students need to answer questions and offer their own opinions about what is currently happening and undertand what has happened to George Floyd and why at this time it is such a significant event with all that is happening in the world.</p>

<p>A reading comprehension aimed at KS2 and KS3 about the return of football and highlighting the significant changes due to racism and coronavirus and how football matches have changed for fans and viewers implementing the social distancing changes.</p> <p>This comprehension is designed to educate students to some changes the world is adopting in various aspects of life in order to move forward.</p>

<p>Here is a lesson I prepared this morning for my online science class with Year 5.</p> <p>The Topic is materials and their properties and they were learning about Thermal Insulators and Thermal conductors.</p> <p>There is a powerpoint I have adapted from Twinkl and a worksheet to go with the powerpoint so that they follow the lesson carefully.</p> <p>Activity sheets for the investigation is also included, The lesson lasted one hour and the kids really enjoyed it.</p>

<p>This is an introduction powerpoint for my class explaining the IGCSE course content and what will be covered throughout this course.</p> <p>It is Option B and we will be doing The First World War as a Depth Study</p>

<p>A consise powerpoint presentation with accompanying worksheet (Including comprehension and activity to teach children about propaganda during the war and how Great Britain got women to volunteer to work.</p> <p>There are activities to analyse propaganda posters and vocabulary work too.</p> <p>As well as the PDF files there are also word documents so that you are able to adapt to how you need it.</p> <p>This is aimed at upper Key Stage 2 (KS2) I have been using this with my Year 6 class and they enjoyed this lesson as they were able to be creative.</p>

<p>While us teachers are sat at home online teaching because our schools are shut, here is a quick worksheet i have made for Nouns and Verbs to keep our students busy. I used it for my Y5 class.</p>

<p>Three questions for students to revise and practice:</p> <p>1.On what assumptions was the Schlieffen Plan based?<br /> 2. What is ‘No Man’s Land’?<br /> 3. What methods did Goebbels use between 1929 and 1932 to ensure that Nazi ideas were brought to the attention of the German people?</p> <p>Students need to read through the power points, revise topics already answered in class and answer the questions at the end of the power point.<br /> The third question is for students to answer with open books and they need to follow the PEEL technique.</p> <p>I have also included the mark scheme for answers and teacher help which can also be offered to students.</p> <p>I will be updating this resource as and when I have taught the lessons.</p>

<p>I have created this PowerPoint that revises what Year 5 already know about World War II and The Holocaust linking to Anne Frank explaining why they link together.</p> <p>There is also a webquest activity with a marking guide. It encourages the class to do some research abouot this topic and for them to make their own presentation to send back to me using resources on the internet they have found. As well as making a Power Point presentation for History they are required to make a video of themselves presenting their presentation.</p> <p>The class are really enjoying doing this as they get to use technology and demonstrate their research and spoken skills as well as finding the subject really interesting.</p> <p>Because of being at home and elearning during this quarantine period the class are able to do virtual tours of museums and explore all areas of this topic.</p> <p>On the webquest activity sheet there is also a list of possible websites they can use in order to help Year 5 conduct their research.</p> <p>This resource could also be used for all of KS2 and lower KS3</p>

<p>I created this resource in order to occupy all those children currently at home elearning. It teaches them the importance of Vitamin C and how it helps to boost the immune system and to fight off infections, viruses and diseases.</p> <p>They will be able to investigate various fruits and learn which vitamins they contain and why they are important.</p> <p>This resource contains a hands on activity for the students to enjoy making something, followed by a leaflet activity and some comprehension questions in order for them to have a clear understanding of what they have read.</p> <p>I have included an adaptable Word Version of this document should you need to edit any text.</p> <p>Great homelearning activity to keep the children engaged.</p>

<p>Here are two PowerPoint Presentations about the ‘British Royal Family’.</p> <p>One is an Introduction to the Royal Family and the other is a reading lesson encouraging ‘finding information’ ‘inferring’ and ‘opinions’ ‘using their own judgements’ about the Royal Family. It is a simple ‘guided reading’ lesson.</p> <p>I used these PowerPoints with my Year 5 class and they really enjoyed it.</p> <p>I will be updating this file as and when i teach the lessons.</p>
