This is an entire lesson revising the perfect tense in French, aimed at a high-ability Year 9 or 10 class. It involves a perfect tense investigation, in which pupils revise the perfect tense rules from a set of examples, a series of questions and a set of clues. The extra challenge is to translate and explain some perfect infinitive examples. There is also a dice activity and a written task at the end of the lesson. The set of resources also includes relevant grammar explanation sheets.

Pupils work in groups and use examples of perfect tense verbs, and clues, to work out the rules for forming the perfect tense, then they put those rules into practice. Finishes with a team game.
