ppt for an assembly based on book by Danny Wallace - includes acts of kindness that are easy to carry out!
Science of Happiness based on a documentary called 'Making Slough Happy' think it was the BBC
A whole lesson designed to get pupils to learn and use the verb Tener. There is a 'rap' type activity (make up your own rhythm!) and the last slide can be photocopied on A5 so pupils can play the game in pairs.
Pupils use the Spanish horoscopes to match the English names to the descriptions (I put them on card) The powerpoint just introduces the activity. Good for older learners to extend personality vocabulary
Not the town - my cute dog in various places - a powerpoint to teach/revise prepositions of place one in French one in Spanish.
Worksheets to reinforce
A Powerpoint which links the use of the verb 'Soler' with bonfire night Activities. I recapped &'Jugar&'; and used the pattern to get pupils to put 'soler&' in order. The verb is then used to describe their usual Bonfire night activities. Can be adapted for more/less able classes.
A Powerpoint to consolidate Vocabulary about hair, eyes, and adding beard, moustache, glasses. Designed for a lower ability class but can be easily adapted to other Languages and Levels.
This was designed in response to the perennial problem of the agreement of adjectives. The specific topic was films but it could be adapted to other topic areas.
The David Beckham reference may need explaining (sending off - Argentina!!)
A series of lessons based on the 'Heladeria' section in Socorro but can be used independently of the textbook. The &'Caza de Tesoro&'; encourages them to do written work - the person who happens to give the answer that is pre-prepared gets the 'treasure&'. Good for Speaking, Writing and Listening activities.
Worksheet - pupils work out meaning of infinitives from sentences.
Powerpoint game of battleships - can be easily adapted. I usually play cross-class then give out blanks for pupils to play in pairs
A card I developed for a particularly troublesome year 8 group with several statemented pupils. It works on the idea of positive behaviour management. The pupils are responsible for filling in the information. The numbers help - 'Do you need to put a cross in number 3?' (instead of stop talking while I am). Can easily be adapted for other subjects.
Created in response to common errors by year 8 (topic = hobbies) with regard to NOT using the infinitive when required (e.g Me gusta juego)
I have deliberately not mentioned the subjunctive at this stage!
A lesson based on a previous about Bonfire night. Revises 'jugar&' and uses it to introduce &';Soler' + infinitive. Is then practised using Halloween customs
A whole lesson designed to encourage pupils to practise basic questions (speaking) - name/age/nationality/pets.
The powerpoint explains the activity - the cards may need adapting according to the make up of the class.
