Stories with a twist for Year 2 Traditional stories Unit. This is an excellent bundle of useful resources that can be easily adapted to different areas of writing - from narrative, to character description to even further write a forest setting. All of the example texts incorporate the New National curriculum Grammar objectives for Year 2 writing. If the children imitate the narrative text, and innovate it to make it their own, they should achieve the greater depth expectations for writing. A learning ladder has been incorporated for children to self assess and peer assess using the new TAF standards from the English Curriculum. Children can also magpie model sentences and begin to understand varied sentence types within context. There is a supporting powerpoint to show a 3 week journey, with the exemplar, comprehension questions and visuals to support learning the text in the imitation phase.
