This bundle contains 2 grade 12 chemistry finals WITH ANSWERS. These chemistry final exams will take students approximately 2 - 2.5 hours to complete. Each final examination contains 90 multiple choice questions WITH ANSWERS. The 5 units tested are orbitals and bonding, organic chemistry, equilibria reactions, enthalpy and rates, and redox chemistry.

My name is Darrin Mathewson and I have a PhD in organic chemistry. I have been teaching physics and chemistry for over 15 years. All the Power Points, quizzes, tests, multiple choice questions, short answer questions and worksheets that I post are properly formatted and ready to print. They have been checked for mistakes and typos!

The topics covered are:
Equilibria Unit: Chemical Equilibrium, Solubility Equilibrium, calculating pH, pOH, H+ concentration or OH- concentration, Keq, Ka, Kb, Ksp, Kp, equilibrium concentrations, factors that affect equilibria, equilibrium shifts, Le Chatelier’s principle, conjugate acid-base pairs, acidic and basic salts.

Organic Unit: Identifying, naming and predicting the reactions of various functional groups such as alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, ethers, esters, amines, amides, alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, aromatics and carboxylic acids. It also includes, isomers, solubility, boiling points and naming/drawing organic molecules with various functional groups.

Redox Unit: The problems include calculating cell potentials, balancing redox reactions in acid or base using the half reaction method or oxidation number method. It also includes oxidation number, species reduced, species oxidized, oxidizing agents, reducing agents, electrochemical cells, galvanic cells and electrolytic cells.

Orbital/Bonding Unit: The problems include writing electron configurations, resonance, Lewis structures, VSEPR, hybridization, molecular shapes, formal charge, pi bonds, sigma bonds.

Enthalpy/Rates Unit: The problems include calculating enthalpy using Hess’s law, calorimetry, Q = mct, bond dissociation energies, heats of formation, calculating rates of reactions, rate laws, collision theory, reaction mechanisms and potential energy diagrams.
