The intention is to have students thinking and functioning “outside” the stories through the use of structured activities which require children to do more than simply just answering factual questions. Some activities will require students to use information by solving problems and making assumptions; while others ask students to be creative and evaluative by putting forward original theories and ideas and by providing opinions on aspects of the story.
