A sensory story about the Christmas Nativity.

A lesson plan for telling a Sensory Story about the Christmas Nativity with a group of learners of primary school age, KS1 and KS2, with PMLD. The Engagement Model and Routes for Learning can be used to asses progress and inform future planning; some ideas for learning and assessment opportunities are included in the lesson plan. The lesson involves the use of sensory props, generally readily available, and provides opportunities for engagement using visual, auditory, olfactory, kinaesthetic and tactile senses and supports a range of learning styles.
