An interesting idea that reinforces the idea of a fraction being a ratio of two numbers, in this case, the x and the y displacement.<br /> It also gives a clear visual representation why 1/3 = 2/6, etc. I think I would start with this as a way to find equivalent fractions before then looking at addition and subtraction. I thought you made a brave attempt to show the addition of two fractions through rotating! I don't think I would go there but, as with everything, it depends on the class.
