These addition & subtraction task cards and think boards are fantastic for KS1 children who are learning to add & subtract using the part part whole model. A selection of addition & subtraction task cards and think boards that are differentiated to cover addition & subtraction within 20. Each task card includes a different addition or subtraction calculation. There are part part whole diagrams underneath each calculation for children to use to help them work out the answer. There is also a response worksheets for your kids to record their answers. Your students can also develop their self-assessment and peer assessment skills by using the full answer key to correct their own work!
When using the think boards, students can look at the addition calculation in the centre of the mat then show their thinking in different ways using the different sections on the addition mat including using a number line, part part whole model, writing the addition problem and drawing a picture.

Each Addition Think Board features an addition calculation for your students to calculate. Your students are asked to show their thinking in four different ways:

How to use this resource
This addition & subtraction with part part whole model resource can be used in smaller groups or as a Math center. You can either laminate each worksheet or place them into a dry erase pocket. You can then use dry erase markers to complete. As you can then wipe out your answers this resource can be used over and over again!
