Alcohol and Self-esteem Activities Bundle (US)

Students learn about the reasons why teens start to drink, the effects/risks of drinking, alcohol dependence and addiction. Using hot seating, two students assume the characters of Jess and Rochelle. Rochelle invites Jess to an after school gathering and Jess drinks alcohol for the first time. Jess continues to drink and on another social occasion, turns up already drunk. Rochelle posts videos of Jess when she is drunk.

Students learn about the signs of low self-esteem and ways to improve self-esteem.
Includes a group words/phrases activity, a group writing activity in which students read about Sophie, who can’t date a boy she likes because of her low self-esteem, and explore alternative outcomes for her, and lesson plan.
